1) What we do

Policy Scout operates websites, forms and pages (the “Services”) that help Australians request information about life-insurance options and be introduced to third-party providers (insurers, advisers, brokerages) (collectively, “Partners”). We are not an insurer, broker or financial adviser and we do not provide personal financial advice, underwrite, issue or bind cover.

2) Agreeing to these terms

By accessing the Services, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services. You confirm you are 18+ and using the Services in Australia.

3) Changes

We may update these Terms at any time by posting a new date above. Continued use means you accept the changes.

4) Your responsibilities

You agree to: (a) provide accurate, current information; (b) use the Services lawfully; (c) not interfere with or scrape the Services; (d) not upload unlawful, harmful or infringing content.

5) Information only (no advice)

Content is general information only. It does not consider your objectives, financial situation or needs. Product availability, eligibility, features and pricing are set solely by Partners under their own licences (e.g., AFSL/ACL). You should consider seeking independent advice before making any decision.

6) Quotes, introductions & communications

When you submit a form, you request that we share your details with one or more Partners so they can contact you to discuss options. We do not guarantee that you will receive a quote, be approved for cover, or obtain any particular terms. You may receive phone calls, SMS/MMS, emails or messages from us and/or Partners. You can opt-out at any time (see Privacy Policy).

7) Accounts & submissions

If you create an account, you are responsible for security of your login and all activity. You grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use content you submit only to operate, improve and promote the Services.

8) Intellectual property

The Services (including text, graphics, logos and software) are owned by Policy Scout or our licensors and are protected by Australian and international laws. You receive a limited, revocable, non-transferable licence to use the Services for personal, non-commercial purposes. Our trademarks may not be used without consent.

9) Third-party sites & Partners

Links to third-party sites are provided for convenience. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party content, products, policies or practices. Your dealings with Partners are solely between you and those Partners.

10) Availability & accuracy

We try to keep the Services available and the information current, but we do not warrant uninterrupted access or error-free content.

11) Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any Consumer Guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL) that cannot be excluded. Subject to those non-excludable rights:

the Services are provided “as is”; and

to the maximum extent permitted by law, we exclude all warranties and are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit or data; and

our total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with the Services is limited to the greater of AUD $100 or the amount you paid to us for the relevant Services (if any).

12) Indemnity

You indemnify us against losses, costs and liabilities arising from your misuse of the Services or breach of these Terms.

13) Suspension/termination

We may suspend or terminate access at any time. You may stop using the Services at any time.

14) Governing law & venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and the courts of NSW have exclusive jurisdiction.
